I am going to be flying in to Sandford international and staying at Old Key West Resort. What transportation does anyone recommend since we can't use Magic Express? I'm sad this isn't available! Thank you

    Hi Michele!

Stanford International is a smaller airport north of Orlando. We have a discount airline that flies out of our local airport to Stanford and I have landed there myself. I do discourage local friends from taking that route however, due to the fact that this is not a major airport and that Disney’s Magical Express is only available from Orlando International Airport. You usually do get a better deal on flights into this airport however, so for some Guests it is still a good option.

When we flew to Stanford, we rented a car for our vacation right at the airport and kept the car for the week. You could consider renting a car just for the trip back and forth to the airport. This would even allow you to make a grocery stop on the way to your resort if you wanted to pick up bottled water or some snack or breakfast items for your room. Check out as it often has discount codes for rental cars in Orlando.

Both Alamo and National Car Rental have service desks on Walt Disney World property at the Car Care Center. A complimentary shuttle is available to Disney Resorts. You could rent a car at Stanford International, drop off your luggage at the resort, then one member of your party could return the car to the Car Care Center. On the way home, your driver can be picked up at your resort to rent a car from the Car Care Center.

Another option would be to arrange for a town car service or shuttle service. Many of these will also include a short grocery store stop if you inquire ahead of time, and there is a handy list of available carries on the Stanford International Airport’s website.

I hope this information is helpful, Michele. Please let us know how else we can help as you plan your upcoming vacation.

Sending you some transportation pixie dust!
