    Joemar from NV Asked

I am flying from Las Vegas, Nevada at the end of July. What is the weather difference and how can I prepare for it?

    Hi Joemar ~

Your trip is just around the corner and I bet you're too excited to sleep already! The weather for Central Florida in July is typically pretty hot and humid. The average high temperature is in the low-90s and the average low is in the low-70s. They usually get an afternoon thundershower so you may want to pack ponchos or umbrellas.

Here are some suggestions for staying cool:

    * Bring a cooling towel that you can put around your neck. There are a lot of different kinds that work really well.
    * Buy a small handheld fan and clip-on fans for strollers (bring extra batteries).
    * Get a misting fan. These are available for purchase in the parks.
    * Wear light colored clothing made of lightweight moisture wicking fabric.
    * Use a visor instead of a hat (they are cooler in the heat).
    * Drink lots of water.
    * Bring an umbrella - it provides shade as well as rain protection.
    * If you are staying on property, take advantage of morning and evening Extra Magic Hours when the temperatures are more pleasant.
    * Take a break and go back to your resort for a swim.
    * Visit one of the two awesome water parks.
    * Seek out attractions and shows where you can spend more time in the air conditioning such as The Hall of Presidents or the Carousel of Progress.
    * If you will be using a stroller, put a white towel over the top to reflect the sun's rays.
    * You are more than welcome to bring water into the parks. Just keep in mind that glass bottles (other than baby food jars) are not permitted in the parks.
    * There are "misting stations" in the parks. In the Magic Kingdom, there is a location near the Jungle Cruise.

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members can visit the DVC Member Lounge in the Imagination Pavilion in Epcot.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
