We will be flying in for a few days at Disney, then heading out for a cruise, then back to Disney. We booked DME for our initial arrival/departure, but looking for the best option to get to/from cruise. Shuttle to airport? Or direct from Disney to port?

    Hi there, Jennifer!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  How excited are you for your upcoming vacation?!?!  A few days at Walt Disney World Resort followed by an adventure on the high seas and then back to the theme parks?!?!  What a vacation!!  I am sure you will welcome those relaxing days at sea after some busy days at the theme parks!

You have a couple options to get to Port Canaveral for embarkation for your voyage to sea.  If you are embarking on a Disney Cruise Line vacation, I highly recommend booking ground transfers through Disney Cruise Line.  This will be the easiest way for you to get from your Walt Disney World Resort hotel to the Disney Cruise Line terminal for check-in and registration.  Ground transfers can be added to your reservation up to three days prior to setting sail and can be done by contacting Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or your travel agent.  Then, on the night before you set sail, you will receive information in your room about what time to have your luggage ready to go and where to meet the motor coach that will take you directly to Port Canaveral.  While always subject to change, current pricing for round trip transfers is $78/per person (ages 3+).

If you are not going on a Disney Cruise Line voyage (and if you aren't, you should definitely consider one in the future!) OR you prefer to not book Disney Cruise Line ground transfers, my recommendation would be to book a private car service that will take you directly from your hotel to the port and then back again at the end of your adventure at sea.  I recommend finding a company that has a set price to/from Port Canaveral instead of one that charges per mile.  Sometimes this option can be more cost effective, but often taking Disney Cruise Line transportation is so easy that I prefer to do that!

Oh, I am so excited for you and the memories that you will make during this vacation!  Please come back with any other planning questions you may have - for land or sea!
