Flying to Disney SEPT. I don't want to check my luggage, but if there's no room i could possibly have to gate check it. Can i still use DME delivery service on a gate checked bag? Should i attach the yellow tags before hand just in case?

In my experience flying for the past few years, space on flights is more of a premium and if you're not in one of the first few loading zones you might not have the option of carrying your luggage on board and may be asked to gate-check your luggage. You're savvy to think about this before your trip.

There are two types of "gate-checked" luggage: 1) luggage that will be returned to you on the jetway after you land and 2) luggage that will be checked through to your final destination and returned to you via baggage claim. Any luggage that is check through to your final destination will be treated just like luggage that might have been checked at the ticket counter. Putting your Magical Express Tag on it will ensure that it is picked up and delivered by DME. Luggage that is simply checked but returned to you on the jetway will need to be taken by you to the bus.

If you think there might be a chance that your bags will be checked at the gate and through to baggage claim at the Orlando Airport, there is no downside to attaching your Magical Express tags.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
