Hi. We are flying our 1st Disney cruise 9/3/16 on fantasy Halloween on High Seas ship. We have one 7 year old daughter. What should we expect at the ports? Do you recommend an excursion at each port?

    Ahoy Ho-Jung –

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and CONGRATULATIONS on your first Disney cruise! I think a 7-night cruise is an excellent initiation to the fun and luxurious lifestyle found when cruising with Disney, and your family is in for a treat. You will be on the Western Caribbean itinerary which is a guest and personal favorite of my own. The ports include Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Disney’s private island getaway Castaway Cay. Since this is your first cruise, I suggest that you consider getting off at each port to at least walk around, shop, and take pictures. You will find the docks have sufficient diversion that an excursion may not be needed. Now my pirate crew definitely loves the Port Adventures because the beaches and snorkeling at Cozumel is best to none, and there is nothing like hanging out at Seven Mile Beach at Grand Cayman. Your 7-year old pirate fairy princess will have fun at both ports. My pirate crew’s favorite excursions are the Cozumel Beach Break and the Family Day at Tiki Beach in Grand Cayman. Of course, Castaway Cay is a must do for every cruiser to see the white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and peaceful ocean breezes. Ho-Jung, I hope this helps with your planning, but if you need more tips, please come back again for a visit!
