    Kelly from Fl Asked

I am a Florida resident and a current Disney passholder. My daugter is 12. I LOVE to go to Disney with her but I think I've burned her out. I'd like to know if you have some suggestions on new things to see besides the rides.

My 11-year-old daughter has been to Walt Disney World MANY times. I wouldn't quite say that she is burned out on the rides, but, as a change of pace, she does now like to explore other areas of WDW besides the rides. There are a great many things to do at the resorts that your daughter might enjoy doing (these are available even for Florida residents). For example:

    - Horseback riding at Fort Wilderness
    - Mommy/daughter manicure/pedicures at the Spa at Saratoga Springs
    - Parasailing at the Contemporary
    - A horse-and-carriage ride at Port Orleans
    - Watch the incredible Cirque du Soleil show

There are also many "off the beaten path" things to do at the theme parks. For example:

    - The Behind the Seeds tour at the Land Pavilion at Epcot
    - The Dolphins in Depth program at Epcot
    - Going on "hidden Mickey" treasure hunts
    - Really explore the Pangani Forest Trail at the Animal Kingdom, try to find ALL the species there
    - Try to have a real conversation with a cast members from each of the countries at Epcot
    - Create a challenge for yourselves -- see how many attractions you can experience in a set amount of time

One thing I'm looking forward to doing with my oldest is running in the Expedition Everest 5K Challenge at the Animal Kingdom in September. The event is open to runners age 11 and up; we'll be running as a two person team. Neither of us are really runners, so I'm looking forward to spending some  special time with her as we train for the race.

I hope you and your daughter continue to have many wonderful experiences at WDW.
