    If our flight arrives@4:30pm will there b enough time 2 take the magical express, check in at the POFQ+make our dinner reservations(through bus transportation)at chef Mickey at 6:50pm?Any advice?What happens if we are a few minutes late?

    Jennifer,

    It is going to be very close. Let's look at a best case scenario;

    • You land at 4:30 pm. The fastest you will get to the Magical Express bus area is 4:45 pm.
    • You get put on a bus that is about to leave. The trip will be at least 30 minutes, getting you there at 5:15pm.That is assuming your resort is the first stop, which is not a definite thing.
    • You do Online Check-In, so reasonably you are done with all that in 15 minutes. Now you are at 5:30 pm.
    • Now you have to get from your resort to the Contemporary. The fastest way is to bus it to the Magic Kingdom, then walk over. Assuming no wait for a bus, you have a 20 minute bus ride. Then a 10 minute walk. Now you are at 6:00 pm. With 50 minutes to spare.

    But this is, as I said, the best case scenario. When reality sets in, you know you are going to have;

    • At least a 10 minutes wait at the Magical Express area (maybe more)
    • On average another 10 minute wait for the bus from Port Orleans, maybe 20
    • If your resort is not the first stop on the Magical Express route, you could be adding up to another 30 minutes
    • You may have to wait in line for check in at the resort
    • You may have to wait at the Orlando Airport for a tram, etc.

    BOTTOM LINE: You could make it, but it really will be close. What I would do is keep your reservation. As your day moves assess how much time you have to go before your reservation comes due. They may not hold it for you. If time seems to be getting short, consider cabbing it directly from Port Orleans to the Contemporary to shave as much as 35 minutes from your overall schedule.

    Have a magical vacation!
