Our flight arrives at 1:00 on 10/30/11, and we are staying in our time share during our time at WDW. We thought we would check in and then spend the remainder of the day at Downtown Disney. Will there be enough there to do or should we get Circus tickets

    Hi Karen:

If your flight is on time and there are no issues with luggage or transportation, I imagine you will get to your time share at 2:00 p.m., and you'll likely be at Downtown Disney at 2:30 p.m at the earliest.  Depending on the length of your trip, I'm a huge fan of taking the first day easy, either at the pool or strolling around Downtown Disney.

I'm not sure about the ages and interests of your party members, but there should be more than enough options to keep your party entertained the remainder of the day at Downtown Disney.  Fist, there is shopping.  And even if most of the family doesn't enjoy shopping, there is such a variety of shops that it's likely one or two stores (World of Disney? Lego? The Art of Disney?) may be of interest to everyone in the party.  Downtown Disney is known for its dining, so check out the dining options that may be right for your party. Family members can also take in a first-run movie or some video games at Disney Quest. You can also take in a tethered balloon ride, Characters in Flight, that will give your party dramatic views of Disney World property.

I love Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba and think everyone should see it at least once.  Depending on how late you want to stay out and what percentage of the above sounds appealing, you may want to get tickets to the show.  For me, I can spend the afternoon and evening at Downtown Disney without seeing La Nouba. But if the show looks appealing to you, I recommend getting tickets.

    Enjoy your vacation.
