Flight arrives at 130pm, staying at Port Orleans Riverside and want to make reservations for Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney for that day, do you think we could make it for 430? thanks

Hi Krista! Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside is one of my favorite Resorts for its abundant amenities and ease of access to not only the parks, but also to Downtown Disney. You did not mention this, but I assume you will be using Disney’s Magical Express to travel from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to your Resort. Travel times from the airport can vary, so I try to budget 45-75 minutes. More than likely, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside will not be the only stop that the bus makes when traveling from the airport. On a recent trip, we stopped at three other Disney Resort hotels before reaching our final destination.

Once you are checked in at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, I suggest using the Sassagoula River Cruise service to travel to Downtown Disney. This water taxi launches from the marina at Port Orleans Riverside, travels to Port Orleans French Quarter and then on to Downtown Disney Marketplace dock every 20 minutes from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. The boats have limited seating, so you will need to budget extra time in case it fills.

I honestly feel like you are going to be cutting it way too close by scheduling an Advanced Dining Reservation at Planet Hollywood just 3 hours from your planned arrival time at MCO. I usually try to have at least 4 hours between arrival time and first planned activity. My family prefers to not have an Advanced Dining Reservation on our first night just in case something, like a flight delay, does mess up our plans. There are some great counter service restaurants at Downtown Disney that do not require a reservation. We have eaten at Earl of Sandwich many times and recently enjoyed lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney Marketplace. I’d consider just keeping this night more laid back so you won’t feel so rushed, especially on the first night of your vacation!

I hope this information helps you. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
