Our flight arrives at MCO at 7:40am and using the Magical Express to get to Port Orleans-Riverside. What is the quickest way to get to Magic Kingdom from Riverside and what is a reasonable time to get there that first day?

    Hi Todd!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Whenever we travel to the Walt Disney World Resort, we try to book an early morning flight so that our first Disney Day is an almost full-day experience.

Disney’s Magical Express is the best way to start your adventure. This complimentary motorcoach transportation between Orlando International Airport and your Walt Disney World Resort hotel always leaves me feeling like royalty. I love that I don’t have to pick up my luggage from the luggage carousel, and I don’t have to worry about renting a car and driving myself on unfamiliar roads. I’ve found my Magical Express drivers to be incredibly friendly, and I’ve always felt so safe. Make sure that you attach your yellow luggage tags to your bags at your home airport prior to checking your luggage. Make sure to pack a carry-on travel bag with your first-day plans in mind. I always pack a change of clothes, swimsuit, and sunscreen.

Once you arrive at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, if your Resort hotel room isn’t ready, you can store your belongings at Bell Services. To get to the Magic Kingdom, consider using the Complimentary Resort Transportation. Hop on board the first bus to Magic Kingdom, and away you will go! If you are in a hurry, consider using Disney’s Minnie Van Service powered by Lyft. For a fee, you can request a ride, see your price, and pay for your ride in the app. A Disney Cast Member will come to pick up you and your family in an awesome Minnie Van and transport you directly to your destination without extra stops.

When considering a reasonable time to get to Magic Kingdom on your first day, I always recommend playing it by ear. Since you will have an early flight in, your family may want to grab a bite to eat at the Resort hotel before heading to the theme park. My number one tip is to make sure that you pace yourselves! When you land, your adrenaline will be pumping, and excitement will take over. Make sure that you and your family take time to rest and recoup so that you can enjoy the rest of your magical stay! You don’t want to wear yourselves out on the first day!

    Wishing you many special memories!
