Port Orleans Riverside Pool

Has the fishing policy changed any at POR? My husband would like to bring his own fishing rod for catch and release dockside fishing. Is it still only cane pole fishing? And a fee for dock usage if you bring your own equipment?

    Howdy Sherri!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Thank you for your questions!  May is definitely a beautiful month to visit the Walt Disney World Resort!

My family and I love Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside!  We have also enjoyed relaxing on the docks and fishing above the well-stocked waters.  There is no fee to fish from the docks.  The only fee would be if you were to rent a fishing pole.  If you rent a fishing pole then it would be a cane pole but if you would like to bring your own personal fishing pole then you can at no charge.  You are also able to bring the fishing pole of your choice.  All fishing on the Walt Disney World Resort property is catch-and-release.

There are so many new and exciting things planned for 2020.  In March, Mickey Mouse will debut in his very first attraction.  Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be a zany adventure with Mickey and the gang!  This will definitely be a must-do for my family.

Also in May, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will be in full bloom!  This is a family favorite in our home.  They will have Outdoor Kitchens serving up some yummy food, beautiful topiary displays, and make sure to visit the Garden Rocks Concert Series.  With the music, food, beautiful scenery, and so much more, this festival is a blast for all ages.

To stay up-to-date on everything happening in 2020, check out the Disney Parks Blog.  Also, if you have any more questions, please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We love to help, Sherri!
