Our first WDW trip in July with our DD (6) and DS (18 mos.) and have an 8:10 ADR at Chef Mickeys. We are staying off-property and plan to drive to MK. Any advice on how to best get to the Contemporary, then to MK, then back to our car after MK? Thanks!

Hi, Mark! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and congratulations on planning your first trip to Walt Disney World Resort! Your family is going to really enjoy having breakfast with Mickey and his pals!

Driving around Disney property is very easy, so no worries. There are large signs posted along the roadways indicating how to get to each Walt Disney World theme park, resort hotel and water park as well as Downtown Disney and the two miniature golf courses. Disney's Contemporary Resort and Magic Kingdom Park are both located on World Drive at the northern tip of Disney property.

The independent website MouseSavers.com has a very helpful POI (Points of Interest) File for traveling around Walt Disney World which you can install on your own GPS navigation device. On the MouseSavers home page, click on "Transportation for Disney Vacations" in the left column.

When you arrive at the Contemporary Resort gate, just let the Security Guard know that you have a breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's. Typically, you will be asked to present a photo ID and then will be allowed to enter the parking area. Follow this link for more information on Parking at Walt Disney World.

When you are finished with breakfast, you can take the pedestrian path from the Contemporary over to Magic Kingdom. This walkway curves around under the monorail beam and continues past the bus depot to the entrance gates to Magic Kingdom. It will take you between 10 to 15 minutes. To return to the Contemporary, simply take the walkway again in the reverse direction. Alternatively, you can hop on the monorail in the Contemporary's lobby and take the loop around to Magic Kingdom (4th stop).

Wishing you a magical vacation, Mark! Please come back to visit us again with any other questions as you plan your trip.
