Going on our first WDW Jan 25- Feb 2 2011. Trying to decide if going to parks that offer Extra Magic Hours is really a good idea. What I have read says those parks are really busy and should be avoided, but with us going non-peak season would it be best?

    Hi Amanda,

There are mixed opinions on this question.  Some people love extra magic hours, and some people avoid them at all costs.

Do you have park hopper passes?  If so, then I recommend taking advantage of extra magic hours.  In the morning you can get some of the more popular attractions in before the crowds arrive.  Once the park starts to fill up, grab an early lunch at a nearby resort and then head off to another park.  If you are night owls, the first hour or so of extra hours at night is crowded, but by the end you can basically walk on attractions.

If you don't have park hopper passes, avoid the parks with extra magic hours.  Actually, we like to go to the parks that had extra magic evening hours the night before.  What are the odds that someone who stayed in a park until the wee hours of the morning will return to the same park the next day?  It's not very scientific, but it seems to work for us.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
