We are going for our first visits and our son's 5th birthday celebration (well his real bday is Xmas day, so we are going in Nov since we like to have a separate bday from Xmas). What are some can't miss items (fast passes) for a 5 year old boy?.

    Hi Amber!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I bet you're so excited about celebrating your First Visit AND your son's birthday at Walt Disney World Resort! I'm sure it will be amazing.

There are so many attractions that you will want to experience with your son, but I'll just tell you the ones that I would definitely try to secure FastPasses for instead of listing them all. At Magic Kingdom Park, I would get Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan's Flight, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Tomorrowland Speedway, and The Barnstormer. If he is a bit of a thrill seeker and is at least 40 inches tall, then I would suggest Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain too. The Barnstormer is always a good place to test him out and see if he will like this type of attraction.

At Epcot, I would suggest The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Turtle Talk with Crush, and Test Track or Soarin' if he is at least 40 inches tall. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, you absolutely must do Toy Story Midway Mania! I would also do Star Tours and Disney Junior - Live on Stage! He also might enjoy the Jedi Training Academy, but you won't need a FastPass+ for this event. Just head straight to the sign up location when you arrive and you'll be given a time slot for later in the day.

At Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you'll want to get FastPasses for Kilimanjaro Safaris, Kali River Rapids, and Festival of the Lion King. Keep in mind that there are many other attractions that you'll want to do but these are the ones I would try to secure with FastPass+.

I hope you have an amazing vacation and make lots of magical memories. Happy early Birthday to your little prince!
