Hi. First visit to WDW. We are a family of four ( Husband, and girls age 13). We have 6 day MYW tickets, but staying 5 nights. Should I add on one more night of stay at hotel, or consider 6th day a loss? Thank you.

    Hi Devona,

I'd hate to see you waste a day of Disney fun (and the money you spent), but you don't necessarily have to add another hotel night to take advantage of your sixth day.

I'm not sure when you plan to arrive and depart, but if you get to Walt Disney World early on the first day and depart late on your sixth day, you can get your money's worth from your ticket package. That's the way my family always plans our time to get in every possible moment.

Even if you arrive early morning, before the parks open, you can still check in at the resort, get your welcome package, room key card and tickets and start your fun. You can leave your luggage with bell services (or in your car, if you drive). The resort will call or text you with your room number when your room is ready.

Similarly, you can check out early on your last day, stow your luggage and continue to enjoy the benefits of being a resort guest until midnight if you wish.

If arriving early and departing late to get the maximum advantage of your tickets isn't possible, you might want to consider another hotel night. My hope is that your family will be having so much fun that they won't want to give up that last day.

I hope that helps. Please write back to me if I can offer more specifics or answer any other questions. I especially love offering advice to first-time visitors. Enjoy!
