First visit, but had to do last minute. Only 17 days to go. Trouble planning. no fast passes. Afraid to look at dining. Should we go & make best of it - or will we be frustrated the entire time? Suggestions? Recommendation for excited 8yr old boy? Than

    Hi Peggy,

Thank you so much stopping by the Moms Panel. First off, don't panic! While your trip may have been planned last minute, you most definitely won't be missing any of the magic. Making FastPass+ selections ahead of time is a great, but everyone still has the option of standing in the queue for attractions and experiences. I suggest utilizing the My Disney Experience app during your visit to keep track of wait times throughout the parks. Also, each theme park now has FastPass+ kiosks with cast members available for making last minute selections, so feel free to use that option during your visit.

Don't be afraid to book your dining plans as well. Truthfully, it's never too late to book Advance Dining Reservations. If you're interested in booking, check out the Dining section of the Walt Disney World website or call the Dining Reservations line at (407) 939-1947.

As for your 8 year old Buccaneer, a special experience at The Pirates League would be so memorable. He'll be an expert scalawag in no time! If the Pirates League is booked, there are many face painting kiosks available all over the parks where he'll be able to get into character. We recently saw a great artist creating magic at a kiosk in Disney's Hollywood Studios, right across from The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow.

I hope this eases your nervousness, Peggy. If you have any more questions before your vacation, please feel free to ask at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
