This is our first vac. May not be able to do this again. Kids ages 12,11,10. Will be there 3 nights/Aug. What parks and dining plan do you recommend as a must? Is the plus plan worth it, or is quick-service plan ok and do breakfast at resort? Keri

    Hi Keri,

How exciting that you're making your first trip to Walt Disney World. As you are there 3 days and with your children the ages they are I would definitely recommend you visit Magic Kingdom (MK), Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios (DHS). MK is to me what Disney is all about, the Castle, rides, ambiance it just can't be missed. Epcot has the fantastic Soarin, Test Track and Mission Space which your children will adore and walking around World Showcase and visiting all the countries is great. As for DHS you have to ride the new Toy Story Mania, it's a 4D shooting ride and can not be missed, there are also lots of shows and the fabulous Rock n Roller coaster and Tower of Terror to ride.

As you have such a short time you definitely need to utilise the fast pass system, this is a free service that gives you a front of the line pass at a set time. There is a great video here on the Mom's Panel site explaining how it works.

As for dining it really depends on how much time you want to spend eating rather than seeing the parks. My family loves to have a sit down table service meal most days so the regular Disney Dining Plan is great for us. As you're limited on time the quick service plan may be the way to go though as you won't be restricted by reservation times, I also always pack some breakfast bars to eat in the room so we can get to the parks quicker!

    Have a great trip.
