Hi since our first trip my 5yr old has been diagnosed with lactose and fructose intolerances, we will be on the QSDP. Fructose covers a wide range of ingredients (inc onion, garlic & apple) should I discuss this with Disney before arrival? Thank you!

    Hi Natasha!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. As the mom to a little one with food allergies, I know how difficult it can be to accommodate special diets while traveling. In our experiences, the Chefs and Cast Members have always done a fantastic job accommodating my son,  doing everything in their power to help him have the best vacation. I'm glad you are planning ahead for your little one's meals as I have found that advanced preparation is really helpful when accommodating special diets during vacation.

Walt Disney World Resort's Special Diets Team is an entire team of Cast Members dedicated to helping Guests with special dietary requirements plan their trip. I recommend that you contact the Special Diets Team by emailing them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to get specific information about accommodating your son's intolerances. Be sure to contact them at least 14 days in advance of your trip with the specific foods that your little one needs to avoid. They can give you the best information about how to accommodate your little one's needs during your vacation and the best quick service locations for you to visit.

In general, when you are accommodating your little one's intolerances at quick service locations, you will want to be sure to ask to speak to a Manager or Chef. They will be able to review the menu options that are safe for your little one's meal. Also, you are welcome to bring food with you into the theme park in a backpack or cooler for your little one, provided you don't bring any glass containers. This is a great way to ensure you always have safe meal, snack and treat options for you little one as a backup.

Please let us know if you have additional questions as you continue planning. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
