This will be our first trip to WDW in March 2012. I just booked the pirates league for my daughter for Monday March 5th at 9:10am. We are staying off site...any idea what time we should be at the gate to get there in time and any problems getting in early?

    Hi there, Dave!

What an awesome time she is going to have at the Pirates League!! And great thinking to do it at the beginning of the day: maximize the "Arrrrr" factor.

You're looking at about a five-minute walk from the gate to Adventureland, where the Pirates League is located. My advice is to be at the Magic Kingdom and through security and turnstiles at 9:00 AM, which is when the Park opens for the day; this way, not only are you assured of making your appointment time, but your traveling party can enjoy the fun of Opening Ceremonies, too.

That said, you will likely want to be at the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) no later than 8:00 AM. Early, to be sure, but that buys you enough time to navigate transportation (monorail or ferry) to the Magic Kingdom and addresses any crowd issues that might stall your entry.

You might consider bringing along an activity or two to pass the time before the Park opens. That's a useful contingency. And yes, while this is an early arrival, I'm going to advise you to plan on the early side to avoid the stress of possibly missing the appointment.

    Have a great time!

    See you later, celebrator,
