This is our first trip to WDW and we're with four kids on a limited budget. We only have four days - one for each park. Do we really need hoppers to enjoy it all, or is it realistic to do one park each day and see it all? We're coming in January. Thanks!

Since you are taking this trip on a limited budget, I would advise that there are better ways to spend that money than on the park hopper option Amy.  The last time my family visited WDW we did so without spending the extra cash on the hopper and it didn't detract from our vacation a bit.  You will need to just spend some extra time planning your days so that your schedule will allow you to take in all the shows and parades that you want to see.  During some parts of the year certain shows and parades don't run every day so you'll want to try to visit that specific park on the day that the parade will run.  You'll also want to be sure to plan your meals (if you dine at sit-down restaurants) in or near the park you will be visiting on any given day.

As far as it being realistic to "see it all" in one day at each park, the answer to that is no.  I've been to WDW many times and I can honestly say that I still haven't seen it all.  Making a list of the top attractions you most want to see in each park is a good idea.  That way, you can start with the things that are most important to you and if you have extra time at the end of your day you can be sure to fit in some "bonus" fun.  Have a great time!
