First trip to WDW, booked with our 8 yr old daughter for Dec 16-22 at Fort Wilderness. Booked Mickey's xmas, fantasmic and mickey's bbq already...what else do you recommend? Any tips to help navigate all this info/plan itinerary?

    Barb:

Our family are big fans of Fort Wilderness. Make sure to leave time in your schedule to visit Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long. Take s'mores fixins for the large firepots and bring a blanket while you enjoy the campfire songs as well as pictures with Chip and Dale. Best of all, it's free. The fort also features the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue that any age will enjoy not to mention its Holiday Sleigh rides. Both need to be booked in advance.

As for planning your itinerary, the events you've booked will dictate your schedule. Plot them out first and their corresponding parks. I would recommend enjoying the fort the day of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and visiting Animal Kingdom the day you've scheduled Mickey's Backyard Barbecue because it closes earlier than the others allowing you time to return and freshen up before the dinner. You'll be in Disney's Hollywood Studios the day you've booked Fantasmic, leaving Epcot to schedule and another day to visit Magic Kingdom during the day. The more parks you can visit earlier in your trip the better. The closer you get to Christmas Day, the larger the crowds will be.

Once you've decided on which parks to visit each day, consider spending a moment at www.disneyworld.com looking at the attractions in each park to determine what you want to select for FastPass+ once you are within your 60-day window of arriving. Princess Meet-and-Greets and parade viewing would be my recommendation for your daughter. Lastly, utilize the My Disney Experience link to plan ahead. Because there's so much to do at Disney, planning ahead is crucial to making the most of your time.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
