This will be our first trip to WD. The dates are July 1-7, 2011. We are not lodging in any of the Disney Resorts. My son is turning 5 on July 4th. Do you have any suggestions for his birthday on extra special things we can do on his birthday?

    Hi Waynetia!

Celebrating a birthday at Disney is a very unique experience.  I would start your day off with a birthday breakfast at Chef Mickey's.  It is located inside the Contemporary Resort.  You do not need to be a guest at this resort to dine here.  The characters you will meet at this restaurant include Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto.  Bring a birthday card for the characters to sign.  It makes for a great souvenir.  I have linked you to the Chef Mickey's page on the Disney website so you can learn more and make a reservation as reservations are needed for this restaurant.  Click here to visit Chef Mickey's.

When you arrive at the parks be sure to stop by guest services and pick up a free Happy Birthdya button for your son.  He will be stopped by countless cast members who will wish him Happy Birthday.

    Have a magical vacation!
