This will be my first trip & wanted to know when is the best time of year to visit WDW & the best place to stay? It will be me, my husband, 9 year old son & 5 year old son.

    Sabrina,

With two sons, I think a pirate room at Caribbean Beach would be a great place to stay! If you follow the link you can see pictures of the cool pirate ship beds, barrel refrigerator, and even carpet that looks like the wooden floor of a ship! These rooms are highly themed and very fun - even for my house full of girls!

If that's not what you were looking for, perhaps a room at All-Star Sports would be more up your alley?

In the deluxe category, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Beach Club are two of my favorites.

The best time of year to visit does depend somewhat on personal preferences. For my money, I would say fall (late September-early October) and January (actually anytime after New Years and before Presidents weekend in February) are my top picks. Early December is also nice, as you will see reduced crowd levels and can still enjoy all of the Christmas decorations.

As a general rule of thumb, any time school is in session for most of the country is a good time to visit. This will get you smaller crowds and, usually, cooler weather. In the middle of summer you will find heat and crowds both - not my favorite combination!

    Happy planning!
