DH, DS and I are going for our first trip for all of us to WDW Sept 10-16. Wanted to book at Chef Mickey's for our 1st night, thought our 4yo son would love it. Plane lands at 4:45pm. What time to make reservation? Thanks!!!

Hi Holli! Dinner at Chef Mickey's is a really fun way to start your Disney vacation!

Answering your question is a little tricky because I'm not sure if you're planning on renting a car or taking the Magical Express and whether you're staying on or off Disney property.  If you're taking the Magical Express from the airport, I'd allow at least two hours to get to your hotel from the time your plane is scheduled to land. This two-hour window gives you time to check in at the Magical Express desk, wait for a motor coach to arrive, make the drive to Walt Disney World, and perhaps stop at one or two resorts before yours. Once you've checked into your hotel, it may take another hour to reach the Contemporary resort using Disney transportation, depending on where you're staying. Thus, I think a reservation for 8 p.m. or later would be a safe bet.

If you're staying at the Contemporary or one of the resorts near it, or if you're renting a car at the airport, you could probably make an earlier reservation, such as one around 7 p.m.

Hope you all have a great time dining with Mickey!
