This will be our first trip. I have older children, 14 and 11. What are the best attractions for older children?

    Hi Jeree,

The great thing about Disney World is that there are attractions and shows that the whole family can enjoy together!  No matter what your age, there will be something for you to enjoy!

Magic Kingdom:  Although this park does have a lot of appeal towards the younger set, don't be fooled into thinking the attractions here are all kiddie rides.  The mountain ranges (Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain) are definitely "must sees".  Also, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin is a fun attraction that will put your arcade skills to the test.  The classics like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion should also be tops on your list of things to see.

Epcot: Soarin', Test Track and Mission Space are what I would consider the "thrill rides" of Epcot - but don't stop there.  Check out Spaceship Earth, Club Cool where you can sample soda from around the world (for FREE), and visit the countries in the World Showcase.

Hollywood Studios: Rockin' Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and Toy Story Midway Mania.

Animal Kingdom:  Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, It's Tough to Be a Bug and Kali River Rapids.

The nighttime shows at the parks are also all excellent.  My favorite is Fantasmic! in Hollywood Studios, but Wishes at Magic Kingdom and Illuminations in Epcot are both wonderful shows.

Did you add a Water Park Fun and More Option to your tickets?  If so, check out Disney Quest in Downtown Disney.  This indoor arcade/virtual amusement park has games to appeal to the whole family, from old school arcade games to simulators that let you design & ride your own roller coaster.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
