First trip as family of 12 including 2 children on the autistic spectrum. We plan to make best use of FP in conjunction with DAS. Can DAS be used when queueing for character meets and shows? at MNSSHP when FP is not available?

    Hi Mary,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you're planning a wonderful trip with lots of loved ones, and I'm so excited for you to visit, as I know you'll make memories together that will last a lifetime! My family just returned from a magical visit with our extended family, and as the mom of a child on the autism spectrum, our group sounds a lot like yours. We enjoyed such a wonderful trip, and I hope you do, too!

Once you've visited Guest Relations inside the theme park and been approved and registered for the Disability Access Service (DAS), you'll be able to use that for any attraction or experience that offers the FastPass+ service. So yes, I'm happy to let you know that some character greeting opportunities and shows are eligible. You'll simply ask the Cast Member at the standby entrance to activate the DAS, and they'll give you a return time. You may use this service throughout your vacation, but may only have one DAS return time active at a time.

Because the Disability Access Service is only available during standard operating hours, it is not available during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. However, in my experience, wait times have not typically been much longer than a standard FastPass+ queue time would be, so the DAS wasn't necessary. I'd definitely encourage you to speak with a Cast Member at Guest Relations, though, if the Mouseketeers in your party are struggling and need assistance. One other tip I have is to make sure to pack sensory toys, headphones, or anything else that could help your kiddos if the magic becomes overwhelming.

Thanks again for visiting us, Mary, and have a truly magical vacation with your family!
