Our first trip to Disney World is 2 months away! I have no idea what to pack for my boys or where to start, we will be there for 7 days. My boys are 4 and 13 months. I don't know where to start. My 13 month old also has a dairy allergy.

Robin, thank you so much for returning to ask me a question.

Planning any trip to Walt Disney World can be intimidating, but your first trip can be especially so. Together we will tackle each step and soon you will have a wonderful plan for a magical vacation. You have already conquered several steps by picking your travel dates, choosing a resort, and making some dining reservations. Next consider your ticket options, park itinerary, and packing.

First, know that Walt Disney World is very accommodating to guests with food allergies. Tell your server or cashier that your son has a dairy allergy. If you have any questions about a food item's ingredients, a manager or chef will be happy to talk to you.

If you have yet to purchase your tickets you will need to decide how many days you want to spend in the parks and what type of ticket will best fit your needs. A base ticket allows you to visit one park per day while a Park Hopper is good for visiting multiple parks each day. Take a look at all your options at Tickets and Passes

Next consider your park itinerary. Your plan should take into consideration your dining reservations, Extra Magic Hours (additional times the parks are open to WDW resort guests), and your family's wish list. If you send me your dining reservations, dates, resort, and your family's interests I will be happy to help you with your itinerary and offer suggestions for not-to-be missed attractions.

For a February trip expect the highs to be in the low 70s. Pack for layering and include pants and jackets because temperatures at night can drop down to about 50 degrees. Toss your swimsuits in your bag because resort pools are heated. Don't forget sunscreen, baby supplies, a bag for the park, a few band aids, and comfortable shoes.

Please contact me with any additional requests; I'm happy to help.
