First trip to Disney in Oct. Hope I have thought of everything. Trouble deciding what character meal to take kids to. Ages 16, 13, 12. Would Chef Mickey be our best choice?

    Hi Deb,

First trips are extra magical.  Be sure to pick up free "1st Visit" pins for everyone at Guest Relations at whichever park you visit first!  I think Chef Mickey's is a great choice for your kids.  The food is great, and features a wide variety of selections that will satisfy even picky eaters.  The characters include Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Minnie (the Disney "classics", which are likely to appeal to older and younger kids).  In addition, its location at the Contemporary Resort makes Chef Mickey's a great choice for "wedging" between visits to either the Magic Kingdom (which is a short walk or monorail ride away) and Epcot via the monorail.

The atmosphere is very celebratory, and it's just about impossible not to have a blast!

Chef Mickey's also serves breakfast, so if it's easier for you to start rather than end your day with a character meal, that's another great option.

    Have a great first trip!
