Our first trip to Disney in February and we are super excited!!!! We are staying in Animal Kingdom Lodge and have a 3 day park hopper and a day just to hang at the Lodge. My mom, my son, and myself. Things you wish you'd known on your first trip?

Wow Gina, I can see why you are so excited. Your magical vacation is just days away now.  Your choice of resorts will be special in itself since you can visit with animal experts and watch some of the great animals grazing on the savannah just outside your room.

If you have not secured some dining reservations I would strongly suggest you do this. Our family enjoys at least one table service reservation per day. It allows you to stop and relax and catch up with all that is happening. It is a great time of sharing the magic together. Dining can be in the parks or in the resorts but try to plan according to your park plan so you are not wasting time going from place to place.

As I mentioned above, have a park plan. Right now Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom parks can be more like half day parks. Check the park hours and see which ones will have extra morning hours and extra evening hours for resort guests. Take advantage of those hours even if it means getting up early. You will be amazed at how much you can accomplish before the throngs of other guests descend into the parks.

Make sure you have taken advantage of FastPass+ and have those reserved for each day.

Wow there is so much to share with first time visitors! Use single lines at attractions if your son is old enough, only reserve one character dining, make sure you see the Magic Kingdom parades and fireworks as well as Epcot's Illuminations, definitely see the Lion King show in Animal Kingdom, and if time head to Disney Springs for some dining and recreation and shopping.  Please don't hesitate to check back with us about specific questions as we will love to assist you!
