This is my first trip to Disney with my family. We fly in at 2:52p and have reservations at the Spirit of Aloha Show at the Polynesian Resort at 5:15p. Is it reasonable that we will make it there on time? We are staying at the ASM resort.

The answer to this depends on how you'll be traveling from the airport to WDW. If you are renting a car and driving yourself, this is possibly do-able.

Let's say your plane actually lands at 3:00. If you're driving, it will take you about 45 minutes at the airport to get your bags, get your car rented, and get to the car. It will then take you 30-40 minutes or so to get to WDW property. It's now 4:15 at the earliest. Personally, I would drive straight to the Polynesian. Walk around there for a bit and go to the Spirit of Aloha show. Then, after the show, you could go to the All Stars, check in and get to your room.

If you're taking Disney's free Magical Express shuttle to the airport, then the above plan will not work. Magical Express will only take you to your own resort. You should plan an hour an a half to get from the airport to your hotel. This puts you at ASM at 4:30. Then you have to check in, get into your room, and freshen up. You're already at about 5:00 p.m. and you still have to get the bus to the Magic Kingdom and transfer from the MK to a boat to the Polynesian. You're looking at arriving at the Poly at about 6:00 - well after the start time of the show.

Of course, all of this assumes that your plane actually lands on time. I've traveled to WDW several times in the past few months and experienced weather-related delays on every trip.

If I were you, I would either cancel the luau or try to move it to another night. You will incur penalty fees if you no-show for this event. I think it's too risky cut things so close.
