Congratulations on your first Walt DIsney World Vacation, Sandy!  August will be here before you know it! I have stayed at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort on several trips and most recently in January. I believe each Disney Resort offers unique theming and special recreational activities for that specific resort. Although Disney's Coronado Springs Resort does have a convention center on property, many of the other Disney Resorts have convention centers on site as well. You will need to travel to the theme parks via the Disney bus transportation, but the resort is centrally located to many of the theme parks. I would allow 15-25 minutes travel time to the theme parks via the bus transportation. I would also allow up to 20 minutes for catching the bus that you will need. I definitely think your kids will love the archeological-themed Dig Site - complete with the Jaguar Pool Slide at The Lost City of Cibola Pool.  Although we have experienced almost every Resort at Walt Disney World, my kids always feel like we have had a true "Disney experience" at each one!  I would recommend visiting the unofficial website allears.net and view the photo gallery for the Coronado Springs Resort. This website has a very extensive photo gallery of the guest rooms, dining areas, lobby, and the grounds of this resort. I hope this information helps in making your decision. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Best wishes for a Magical First Walt Disney World Vacation, Sandy!
    Happy Planning,
