This will be my first time visiting Disney World. Is it really crowded the 2nd week in December?

    Hi Cynthia,

How exciting to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! We on the Disney Parks Moms Panel are here to help you plan a wonderful vacation.

I think that you have picked a lovely time of year to head to Walt Disney World. The second week of December is historically not a very crowded week. Because it is between Thanksgiving and Christmas, both of which times many children have time off from school, many people tend not to visit in between the two holiday breaks. The weather is also a bit cooler in Orlando in December, with an average high of 73 degrees Fahrenheit and average low of 52 degrees Fahrenheit, so do pack accordingly - bring a jacket for those cool evenings!

December is also a magical time of year to visit Walt Disney World as the resort becomes decked out in holiday finery. A special event that you might want to check out is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which includes special entertainment and characters ready for the winter holidays.

Another note about planning your first trip to Walt Disney World: make sure that you have set up a My Disney Experience account. This account will help you make and keep all of your reservations, including resort reservations, dining reservations, and Disney FastPass+ selections, in one place.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Cynthia. Have a wonderful time planning your first Walt Disney World vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
