First time trip for VA family of 7 (mom,dad,19,12,12,9,6). Plans are to visit Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom 2/14-2/17. I'm trying to prepare, but there is just so much information. Any tips or advice?

    Hi Rajaka,

I'm also a parent to five kiddos and would be happy to help you with some pointers to make sure your first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is truly magical!

First, there are several things you'll want to do before you arrive. If you haven't yet made Resort hotel reservations or purchased your theme park tickets, I'd do that right away. If there are any Table-service dining reservations you'd like to make, you may do that now. Also, you may see what hours the theme parks are open and make a plan for which park you'd like to do on which day. Once you've made a basic plan, I'd suggest reading a bit about the attractions and experiences at each park and see what each member of your family is most excited about doing. FastPass+ is an amazing (and complimentary!) service allowing you to skip the standby lines, and I'd definitely suggest making three selections per day now.

Once you've done all of that, you're ready for your magical vacation! Be sure to pick up a "My First Visit" pin when you check in. One tip I have is to arrive at the theme park around 45 minutes before it opens to give you plenty of time to go through security and ticketing. Pick up a park map and times guide to help you find where to go and what to do, and enjoy shorter wait times first thing in the morning. Once you've experienced your three planned FastPass+ selections, you'll be able to use the My Disney Experience app or an in-park kiosk to make additional selections, one at a time. If you ever need any assistance, Cast Members are a wonderful resource!

Have a magical vacation with your family, Rajaka, and please let us know if you have any more questions!
