First time trip to Disneyland for our 4 year old. We will be going for Christmas and staying a Paradise Pier. What little secret things can we ask for or do at Christmas time to make our toddler's trip even more special?

    Hi Gabrielle!

In my opinion the holiday time at Disneyland is one of the best times to go for a visit. The lights, sounds, and extra magic make this a Christmas treat not to be beat.

Check out all this Holiday Magic in the parks and resorts. Three attractions will undergo changes during this time. Be sure and visit Its A Small World. Jungle Cruise, and Haunted Mansion for added fun. Entertainment takes on a new level with Christmas parade, holiday World of Color, and carolers roaming the parks with festive music.

Obviously every toddler will want to talk with the famous man in the red suit and white beard. Check out where you can find Santa Claus during your stay.

Main Street, and Disneyland on the whole, is more decorated then California Adventure park but they continue to add with Buena Vista Street and Carsland being the winners with the best decor. Visiting both parks during your stay will be important to catch all the magic.

Each of the Disneyland Hotels will be decorated with trees and will have continuous entertainment during the holiday season. When you check in please get the latest information and times for the current festivities.

I must mention a tradition that likely will return this year and that is the candy canes that are made in the Disneyland Park. These are hand made and the demand is beyond belief. I am not sure a toddler would appreciate them as you literally have to be in line an hour before park opening to simply get a wristband and time to return later for ONE candy cane that costs approximately $13. If you miss your time then your candy cane goes to someone in the standby line.

    Happy Holidays with Mickey!
