First time taking a cruise. Overwhelmed with what to do and see. Are there people assigned to your cabin to help . I am a grandma and would like some quiet time. Any suggestions. My granddaughter is 7. We are taking the Disney Dream Dec. 12th.

    Welcome aboard, Cindy!

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question. There truly are lots of things to do and see while on the Disney Dream. I can relate to how overwhelming it can feel, especially if this is a first time cruise for you and your family. But don't worry -- we're always happy to answer any questions or offer suggestions to help you prepare for your magical voyage.

You've picked a great vacation for you and your grand-princess. Sailing on the Disney Cruise allows something for everyone. At this age, she will surely be engaged with all the fun activities at the Oceaneer Lab & Club -- which in turn, will allow you plenty of quiet time. If I know my kids are safe and happy, then I can have more fun with my own time while onboard. The youth counselors at the club will keep her busy with fun activities and adventures... she may never want to leave.

Once you get your cruise reservation details, remember to complete your online check-in process early. You can register her for the youth clubs online. Believe it or not... all these fun activities are already included in your cruise base price! On embarkation day, I suggest that you explore the youth clubs together with your grand daughter, and you can also speak with the youth counselors if you have any questions. Utilizing the youth clubs is by far my top suggestion for anyone cruising with Disney!

Don't forget to check the Personal Navigator each night when it gets delivered to your stateroom. It will list all the activities for the following day. Bring a highlighter if you'd like to mark items that you don't want to miss. There's lots of character meet & greets onboard, and you'll want to be there 30 minutes early for a good spot.

    Happy planning,
