This is the first time we will not be using the DDP so we will have a large balance charged to our room for meals since we will be using our magic bands. What is the limit before our CC is charged and when will they charge it?I am paying with gift cards.

    Hi Lisa!

MagicBands are such a great and convenient way to make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation even more magical!  Not only can you use MagicBands to check in for FastPass+ experiences, open your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room door, connect your PhotoPass Photos to your My Disney Experience account, and even enter the parks (with valid admission), but you can also use them to charge purchases back to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room!

There are resort charge limits, but these limits depend on the level of resort in which you are staying.  Currently, for Value Resort Hotels and Moderate Resort Hotels, the charge limit is $1,500.  For Deluxe Resort Hotels and Deluxe Villas, the charge limit is $2,000.  When you get close to this limit (90 percent of the charge limit or more), the credit card you have on file will automatically be charged for the balance of all the charges you have made to the room up to that point.  Your room charge balance then resets to $0.

If you would like to pay with gift cards, just stop by the front desk to pay your balance before it is charged to your credit card.  This means that you will need to stop by to pay either before you reach 90 percent of your resort charge limit or the night before you check out--whichever comes first.  Make sure to check with a Cast Member at the front desk of your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel when you check in just to make sure, as charge limits are subject to change.

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
