First time DW trip May 3-9 2009 with DH and DD5. Can't decide where to stay between All-Star Movie and Port Orleans. There is only a $400.00 difference...Love the panel read it everyday!

Hi Stefanie.  Choosing between hotels is a tough choice.   Let me start by saying that both resorts are quite nice and no matter which you choose, you won't go wrong.

That said, I have to admit I am a bit biased towards Port Orleans as it is my families favorite choice among the Moderate-level resorts.   Both Port Orleans resorts, Riverside and French Quarter, offer a great atmosphere for both adults and children alike.     I believe you will find the pool area and guest rooms to be a bit nicer.  Also, the All Star resorts are further away so traveling time can be a bit longer.

However, $400 can be an important difference for many and I would never hesitate to recommend staying at All Star Movies.   Therefore, my recommendation is that if you can fit the extra cost into your budget, since its your first Disney trip you may want to go with Port Orleans.   Hope this helps!
