    Hi Charlotte!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

I recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com for two reasons.  That is the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar that predicts the crowd level in a park on a specific day.  They give recommendations for which parks to visit on which days and which parks to avoid.  You can use that information to help plan out your trip.  The second reason to visit the site is to look at their touring plans, which are basically step by step instructions on the order to experience the attractions to minimize your wait in lines.  Their recommendations are based on a lot of math and years of data collection.  As an engineer, I'm a huge fan of their work.

After you know roughly what park you will be visiting on which day, you should make Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs).  ADRs can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.  They can be made up to 180 days in advance and they are critical if you want to try out a Table Service (full service) restaurant at Walt Disney World, especially if it is in a theme park or if it is one of the more popular ones in a resort hotel.

By the way, since it is your first time visiting I recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel of everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

Our responses are limited in length, but I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
