this is our first time going to Disneyworld. we are going for 8 days. with a 5 year old girl and 13 year old boy. what are some must sees/do's? where will be there in July. are there fireworks ever night?

    Hello Jessica,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question!

The first recommendation that I would give you would be to check out the Planning for Older Kids, Tweens and Teens page. There, you’ll find lots of suggestions for “must-do” attractions and events with your kids. If your kids are thrill seekers, I would definitely start with looking over a list of the thrill rides at Walt Disney World’s Theme Parks and Water Parks in order to get a sense of which attractions you’ll include among your FastPass+ selections when your selection window opens.

Seeing as you’ll be visiting in July (and it gets HOT!), and considering that we’ve had a pretty rough winter in Canada this year, from coast to coast, I would also recommend soaking up the sun with a visit to one of Walt Disney World Resort’s Water Parks, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. My family doesn’t really have a favourite between these two Water Parks, although I might have to give a slight edge to the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

Finally, in July there are usually fireworks every night at Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, weather permitting.  Please consult the Park Hours & Calendars page to get more details about when these nighttime spectaculars are scheduled to take place during your visit.

    Have a Magical Day,
