This will be our first time to Disney with a 6 year old in June-July. I am trying to plan this trip to be magical, but with a budget. I have spent hours & hours trying to find the best price between staying in the resort or out, parks, I'm overwhelmed?

Take a deep breath, Ade; you've come to the right place.  I understand how you might feel overwhelmed, but the good news is that you still have some time to plan.  Let's start with your resort accommodations.  Disney's value resorts offer very economical nightly rates with all the perks of staying on property.  Have you considered a stay at Disney's Pop Century?  It's a great choice!  To save money, I'd also suggest skipping the park hopping option this time.  You'll still get to experience all the magic of the parks without the added expense of hopping capabilities.  Another way to save money is by sticking to counter-service dining locations, but if you want the experience of one of Disney's popular, themed table-service restaurants, you might opt to dine at breakfast or lunch when meals tend to be a bit less pricey.

I have plenty more tips where those came from, but I'm limited by a character count.  If I can be of further assistance, please do write back with your specific planning question (one question at a time is best) and I would be more than happy to help you plan the most magical (yet still economical) trip you can dream up.
