This is our first time coming to WDW. My daughter will be turning 9 years old during our stay. I would like to know the park hopper works. Is their designated transportation between parks and if so how often?

Hi there, Ianna! Thanks for stopping by to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Congratulations on your family's first trip to Walt Disney World! And with your little princess having her birthday during your visit, you have so much to celebrate. Be sure to pick up "I'm Celebrating" buttons for your family, and a "Happy Birthday" button for your daughter. She'll love all the warm wishes she'll receive, and it will help make this special birthday unforgettable.

You have a couple of options when buying your tickets. What you choose will depend on how you think you'll organize your Theme Park days. With the Magic Your Way base ticket, you buy tickets for one park per day for the number of days you choose. Adding on the Park Hopper Option allows you to enter more than one park per day (you can even hit all four in a day if you're super adventurous!). It will all link seamlessly with your My Disney Experience account, so entering each park is as easy as touching your MagicBand at the touchpoints.

Complimentary Disney transportation makes travel between parks easy, too. You can glide on the monorail between the Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot, or float on the waterways between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. All of the parks are also accessible by bus, including Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. Buses run about every 20 minutes or so, but you should allow more time if you're trying to make an Advance Dining Reservation or FastPass+ window in one of the parks.

I hope this helps you plan an amazing family celebration, Ianna. Please visit us again if you have any more questions.

    Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
