On our first night at WDW we made reservations for Chef Mickey's at 6:55 p.m. (Sat. Feb. 7th)...would we have enough time to then see Wishes Nightime Specatular and if so any good spots we can easily get to from our dinner? Thanks in advance!!!!!

    Connie,

I think you will be too rushed to make it over to the Magic Kingdom in time for Wishes, which starts at 8 pm on February 7.  It is only a 10 minute walk from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom (walking TO the Magic Kingdom from the Contemporary is faster than taking the Monorail), and another 5-10 minutes to get to a good viewing area, but unless you are seated very early, you'll probably want to enjoy the experience at Chef Mickey's and will likely take an hour or more for dinner.  I think your time will run out.

Your best bet, if you finish dinner by 8:00, would be to go to the fourth floor of the Contemporary resort, where there is a public viewing area which will provide a view of Wishes (you don't have to be a guest to visit this area).  It won't be quite as good as the view from the California Grill, nor the same experience as being at the Magic Kingdom, but at least it gives you a chance to see Wishes that night.

Bonus tip: If you want some great suggestions on best places to watch Wishes from within the Magic Kingdom, I recommend you visit www.stitchkingdom.com and click on "Now Featuring Robo's Walt Disney World Satellite Maps" and then choose the category "fireworks" and sub-category "Magic Kingdom" to find some great maps of the best locations for viewing Wishes from within the Magic Kingdom, as well as from each of the neighboring resorts (you'll notice that it also mentions the fourth floor viewing area of the Contemporary).
