We are going on our first ever cruise on the Dream this Nov. I know my 6 yr old will be able to page us, but how do my teenage sons find us or how do we find them? If they are in the teen room, how do we contact them then?

    Ahoy, Susan!

Congratulations on your first cruise aboard the new Disney Dream -- she is a spectacular ship, and her cast and crew are in the business of spoiling guests!

I completely understand trying to stay in contact with your teens. You definitely want to have a plan in place before you board since they are most likely to be difficult to plan with once they see the ship! Most US guests do not have international calling plans, and therefore, turn off cell phones and other devices in order to avoid charges. Yet, how do you make plans with your big kids?

Each stateroom aboard Disney Cruise Line (DCL) ships is equipped with two wave phones. I suggest giving these phones to the adults in your stateroom since they are very expensive to replace, and you will be charged if the phones are lost or broken. When your teens are in Vibe or Edge, the adults in your group can call the clubs to give a message or talk to your sons. When they are "in between," I suggest bringing along a magnetic white board to post on your stateroom door (inside or outside). By having a system of communication in place, you'll be able to avoid spending precious vacation time looking for each other all over the vast ship.

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
