This is our first Disneyland trip, we have two boys ages 15 and 9. We are at the park April 1-2 only. We. I feel extremely clueless and want to get the most out of our short trip. We have no idea what is available and could really use some itinerary help.

    Hi, Dawne!

I‘m so happy to hear you’re planning your first family vacation to the Disneyland Resort! It’s going to be a positively magical visit for you all.

Park hours will be long and the entertainment schedule will be bustling, so you should have many opportunities to experience most of the “must-dos” on your list. A great first step would be to peruse Disneyland.com at home so you can create a family wish list of attractions and entertainment. Be sure to utilize Disney’s FASTPASS service when available to optimize your time.

If you’re staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you’ll be as close to the parks as possible and able to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hour each morning. I also suggest making dining reservations now for any table-service meals you might like to enjoy.

Blue Bayou is my favorite restaurant in Disneyland Park. It’s located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and the gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere is like no other dining experience!

Try Flo’s V8 Café in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park, which features classic American cuisine. The décor is inspired by drive-up diners and features a spectacular view of cars speeding by on the Radiator Springs Racers attraction. You’ll want to see Cars Land during the day and also at night when the neon lights are aglow. You may want to take advantage of a World of Color dining package at Disney California Adventure Park so you can enjoy a special meal followed by a viewing of this must-do show from a prime reserved location.

Be sure to see Fantasmic! in Disneyland Park, and if you’re a fan of Disney princesses, stop by Fantasy Faire to meet some Disney royalty. Don’t forget to pick up complimentary “first visit” buttons for your family upon arrival, Dawne!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
