    Ianna from MN Asked

Hello, This will be our first Disney World Vacation. We will be there from May 29th, 2015 to June 7th and will be celebrating my daughters 9th birthday. Any tips on how to make this a Magical unforgettable birthday for my princess? Anything helps. TY! :-)

    Hi Ianna!

How exciting to be planning your first visit to Walt Disney World.   I bet you are anxiously counting down the days until you arrive. Be sure to pick up your complimentary 'First Visit' and 'Happy Birthday' buttons from any Guest service location when you arrive, they make wonderful souvenirs.

My princess just turned 9 years old, and it's such a fun age. I have some great ideas on how you can make her birthday celebration at the Most Magical Place on Earth one she will never forget. Ianna, I encourage you to call and have a Cast Member make a note on any reservations you have made that you are celebrating your daughter's birthday. In the past, my children have had birthday cards, or even a cupcake surprise waiting for them at Disney Dining locations.  It may not always happen, but it's worth noting the birthday.

Since it's your little girls special time, make your daughter's big day all about her.  Allow your princess to plan your day. She can choose what attractions to use your Disney FastPass+ selections for, choose where to enjoy a birthday meal and maybe even give her a spending allowance to choose her own fantastic birthday souvenir.   My daughter always feels so grown up when I allow her to make the plans for our family, it's fun to see her so excited.

Disney also sells some really cute Happy Birthday Mickey Ears. These ear hats can be personalized with your little ones name. I'm sure she would receive many well wishes and maybe a few pixie-dusted surprises if she wore them throughout the day. Disney has so many special ways to celebrate that I couldn't possibly list them all in the limited space I have.  If you would like some more ideas on how to make the day extra magical, please visit us again with any follow up questions. We love to help Guests have the most magical time possible on a Walt Disney World vacation.
