Hello. We are going on our first cruise this April 2012 aboard the Magic and embark on our son's sixth birthday which is a surprise. We are arriving three days early to spend two days at the World. Can you advise how to do these two days with a six yr old.

    Hi Lisa!

You should definitely plan on spending one of those days, if not both, in the Magic Kingdom.  The Magic Kingdom is the crown jewel of the Walt Disney World Resort.  In my opinion, it is the standard by which all other theme parks and amusement parks around the world are measured!  It has the most attractions and shows and your son can enjoy almost all of them!  It is also the favorite park of many guests, including mine!  Your son will definitely love it!

If you decide to visit another park on your second day, the choice is not so clear.  My youngest son, age 7, loves all of the theme parks.  His favorite park is the Magic Kingdom, followed by Epcot.  He specifically loves the Future World portion of Epcot, especially the Nemo and Friends pavilion!  He's also a big fan of the Land pavilion!  However, he's not really a fan of the World Showcase portion of Epcot.

If the day is for your son, as opposed to just being a day for the entire family, then you might consider visiting two different parks on the second day.  If you do that, I suggest going to Epcot in the morning and then Animal Kingdom in the afternoon, or going to Disney's Hollywood Studios in the morning and then going to Epcot in the afternoon!  If you visit the Studios, you definitely want to be there first thing in the morning because Toy Story Midway Mania is a very popular attraction; the lines for it build very quickly and it generally runs out of FASTPASSes by midday.  If you decide to go to Animal Kingdom, I suggest visiting in the afternoon because a lot of guests visit it first thing in the morning and leave in early afternoon.  However, just be sure to check what time the park is scheduled to close the day you want to go to make sure you will have enough time, etc.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
