Where can I find special character greets, dining preferences and any available help for my special needs son with Autism?

Greetings, Deana, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel from a fellow mom of a son with Autism.

I'm so happy to hear you'll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort with your son. We always see great developmental and social gains from our son, who always has a wonderful visit.

Walt Disney World Resort offers families like ours an informative and helpful online planning resource called Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities. May I offer the Guide for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities which you can download and bring with you. I make good use of the sample itinerary on page 10 which reminds me of a visual schedule board.

I also rely heavily on customized planning through My Disney Experience online and mobile app to book Disney Dining, secure FastPass+, personalize MagicBands and find Disney Character greets. My son loves the mobile app because he can see and control what his day will look like.

At Guest Relations in any Theme Park please consult with a Cast Member for the benefit of the Disability Access Service (DAS) for your son if he cannot tolerate long lines. We utilize both the FastPass+ service and the Disability Access Service for attractions which build a schedule into our day.

We would be happy to assist with any further planning, Deana, best wishes!
