How can I find out how many dining plan credits a restaurant takes before I make our reservation? And what if we don't have enough credits? Can we pay the difference?

    Hi Rachel,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted that you brought this dining plan question to us! Food is absolutely one of my favorite topics to discuss about the Walt Disney World Resort.

To locate the number of dining plan credits required by each restaurant, you just need to go to the restaurant's website using the dining reservations list. On each restaurant's website, click on "Some Dining Plans Accepted." Once you click on that link, a pop up chart should appear that will display how many dining plan credits are required for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Using My Disney Experience, you can now track your dining plan credits or you can always stop by the concierge at your resort hotel to see how many dining plan credits you have remaining. I also always create a chart prior to our trip. On this chart, I list our flight information, resort hotel information, dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections. You could also print most of this information from My Disney Experience using "My Reservations and Tickets."  On my chart, beside each dining reservation, I indicate the number of dining credits required. By the time my chart is complete, I can accurately calculate how many dining plan credits we will use so that we do not run out of credits before the end of our trip.

Rachel, if you do run out of credits, you will simply pay for your remaining meals. Remember that your meal and snack credits are calculated per night of stay, so if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, for a 6 night stay, you would have 12 snack credits per person and 12 meals per person 3-years old and over.

    Happy Planning!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
