I find the dining plan confusing. What is the best way to find restaurants to make reservations at and how do I know if they take the meal plan?If the restaurant is in the Magic Kingdom for instance, then I need to be there for the day,no park hopper pass!

    Hi Kristen!

You can get the latest information on the Disney Dining Plans here.  On the right side of the page are PDF files for the various plans.  Just click on the plan you have; most people have either the standard Dining Plan (known as just the Dining Plan) or the Quick Service Dining Plan.  You can then scroll down to the list of restaurants available.

Since you mentioned the Magic Kingdom, I'll point out that you can leave the park, have lunch or dinner at a resort hotel, and then return to the Magic Kingdom.  You don't have to have the Park Hopper option unless you try to visit another theme park on the same day.  When you're at the Magic Kingdom, it is easy to enjoy a meal at any of the monorail resorts.  Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary and 'Ohana in the Polynesian are two of my family's favorites, but there are many more restaurants available.  In fact, you could even take a boat to the Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness and eat in the Whispering Canyon Cafe or Trail's End, which I think is one of the best bargains on property.

Just be sure to make an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for any Table Service restaurants you are interested in.  ADRs can be made up to 180 days in advance and I highly recommend them.  Walt Disney World has some great places to dine and many book up very quickly.  You can make reservations here.

    Have a magical vacation!
