"Where can I find the best "donuts" in WDW?" Me and my 2 childrens, ages 3 and 2 LOVE DONUTS and we would like to splurge just once on vacation.

Well, if it were me, I'd splurge ten or twelve times on vacation. There is A LOT of temptation at Disney World.

Many of the donuts at WDW are Krispy Kreme, just like they have at home. There are also boxed donuts (like in the supermarket) for sale in many of the hotel gift shops. (OK, but not great.) There are Disney donuts for sale at the Bakery on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom and at the Boardwalk Bakery near the Boardwalk resort. (Good, but not overwhelmingly so.) Donut-ish churros are for sale throughout the parks too. I think they're yummy, but my kids almost always devour them before I have a chance to try any.

In my opinion, the best place at WDW for real donuts is Blizzard Beach. There is a food shack here called Mini Donuts. And guess what they sell -- mini donuts. These are freshly made right here (just the smell makes me swoon). The donuts come in a little tray of a half-dozen that some might say could be shared, but not me.  You can also buy raspberry, chocolate, or white chocolate dipping sauces. My kids like the sauces, but to me that ruins the pure, unadulterated donut joy. A close cousin of the donut is funnel cake, an equally splurge-worthy feast. Funnel cake is sold at Blizzard Beach or at other locations described HERE.

But after all that I must tell you that my favorite WDW item in the donut-family is the beneigts at the Food Court at Port Orleans French Quarter. How do they make something so light and airy so dense and delicious? I need to get on my treadmill right now just from thinking about them.

Having fun deciding what to try.
